Picturesquely nestled in the Deister and Bückeberge mountain ranges lies the state spa town of Nenndorf - just 30 kilometres from the state capital Hanover. For more than 200 years, the spa town has been known for its mud, brine and sulphur remedies. Every year, guests from all over Germany find their way here to harmonise body and soul with a bath in the healing waters of brine and sulphur or enjoy the healing power of the moor treatments. In 2022, the state spa was awarded triple certification as a mineral, mud and thermal spa - making it unique in the whole of Lower Saxony. 

The green heart of Bad Nenndorf is the spa park with its 200-year-old trees and historic monuments. Our tip: In 2026, the State Garden Show will provide a colourful variety of culture, lifestyle and garden art for six months. 

If you want to explore further, take a hike in the Deister, a cycle tour to Steinhuder Meer or an excursion to the sights of Schaumburger Land, the home of Wilhelm Busch and famous for its Weser Renaissance castles. Back in Bad Nenndorf, the cultural programme with cinema, concerts and theatre provides glittering entertainment.
