Black Forest, Baden-Wuerttemberg
Here the noblemen of Rötteln have chosen a perfect location: Visible from afar, the mighty castle ruin of Rötteln towers high above Lörrach. From a medieval perspective, the largest castle complex on the upper Rhine thus fulfilled the highest safety standards. Today, we enjoy above all the wonderful views over Lörrach and into the Rhine plain up to the Alps. Impressive walls, passable towers, courtyards and a small museum provide exciting insights into castle construction and medieval life. The exciting journey through time can be concluded in the café and beer garden.

The popular cultural and shopping city of Lörrach invites you to make further discoveries in the trinational region. You will experience a unique togetherness and cultural diversity that has developed in the three-country region of the German Black Forest, French Vosges and Swiss Jura. The Dreiländermuseum in Lörrach, for example, is the only museum in Europe dedicated consistently to the three countries of the region.
Unique concert experiences from rock to classical music are offered every summer at the STIMMEN Festival. For several weeks, extraordinary places and venues in Lörrach and the border triangle become an open-air stage for well-known music stars.
