Maifeld

Region

Münsterplatz 6, 56294 Münstermaifeld

The gentle hills of the Maifeld could be taken straight from a picture book about Tuscany. Where the Eifel meets the Moselle valley, the sweeping fertile plains stretch as far as the eye can see.

Welcome to Maifeld

The cycle tour runs along the disused railway line between Münstermaifeld, Polch, Ochtendung and Mayen. At the junction in Polch, the route continues either onwards to Ochtendung (10 km) or to Münstermaifeld (10 km).

The main attraction of the cycle tour between the Rhine and Moselle rivers is the around 40 metre-high natural stone viaduct which spans the Nette valley between Polch and Mayen, which is followed by two tunnels of 250 and 500 metres in length. There are many opportunities to rest and relax, with restaurants, playgrounds and places to picnic lining the route. While touring the Eifel by bike, cyclists also pass real-life art in the form of several sculptures. A very special kind of open-air gallery.
