This is where the European watershed runs - from where the water flows either further into the Rhine or into the Donau.
The Schwenninger Moos is a 4,000 year old raised moor, in which peat was mined until 1933. A three-and-a-half kilometre circular trail leads through the otherwise inaccessible terrain. If you follow it, you will gain fascinating insights into the species-rich flora and fauna.
At the border of the Swabian Alb and the Black Forest - on the so-called Baar - it lies on one of the most important bird migration lines along the Neckar. More than 120 bird species can be found here.
The historical Neckar spring rises in the Schwenninger City Park Möglingshöhe. It symbolizes the origin and main spring of the Neckar. From there, you can get through the former Landesgartenschau terrain site to the city centre of what was once the largest clock town in the world.
