„Typical Swabian“ - Explore Swabian village history up close on a tour through old kitchens, cozy chambers, simple chambers, barns and cellars.

Listen now!

Welcome to the Open-Air Museum Beuren

Come into the open-air museum Beuren!

Step into a foreign world; explore a village from bygone times. Discover Swabian splendour and thrift in a village fallen out of time. Since 1995, the museum village exists with its old houses from the Neckar country and from the Swabian Alb, with gardens, fields, meadows and fruit trees.

Step into the rustic cuisine, cold sleeping chambers, dark cellars, stables and barns, office, photo atelier, carpenter's workshop or weaving cellar. Discover on your exploration tour on your own, with MuseumsApp or audio guide that "the good old days" did not exist at all.

Step into our museum, to learn more about village life and the everyday life of former times, to try out old techniques, to get to know regional varieties in the garden and in the fields at various events.

Welcome to the open-air museum of the Esslingen district in Beuren at the foot of the Swabian Alb.
