Swabian Jura, Baden-Wuerttemberg
Immerge with us into the world of fossils from Holzmaden. They are regarded as unique witnesses of evolution and give us an incomparable insight into the secrets of primeval times 180 million years ago.
If you let your gaze wander over the hills of the Swabian Alb, it's hard to imagine that the primeval Jurassic Sea once billowed here.
In no other place can earth history be so directly demonstrated as in the fossil site Holzmaden. Here, where you can visit the petrified dinosaurs, fish, sea lilies and ammonites in the primeval world museum Hauff, they lived during the Jurassic period.
There are fossils all over the world, but the museum exhibits are unique in their degree of preservation and preparation.
Especially popular with children are the life-size dinosaurs outside the museum, as well as numerous animations and models of the fascinating underwater world of the Jurassic Sea. They make the Hauff Primeval World Museum an attractive and impressive destination for the whole family.
