Welcome to the center of the Stauferland! Do you remember the famous Hohenstaufen emperor Frederick I, also called Barbarossa? In the historical region around Göppingen the famous dynasty originated.
684 meters high, striking and conical, the mountain Hohenstaufen is the symbol of the city Göppingen. On its top, the ruin of the ancestral castle of the Staufer. The idyllic landscape around the Drei-Kaiser-Berge Hohenstaufen, Rechberg and Stuifen offers ideal conditions for delightful hikes and bike rides.
The so-called Löwenpfade lure with impressive views, changing landscapes and mysterious places and stand for hikes with quality standards. Fifteen further circular trails between three and 17 kilometers in length offer hiking fun for every taste.
If you want to know more about the eventful history, you can take part in guided tours through Göppingen and the Staufer exhibition on the Hohenstaufen.
